오리진클리어(OriginClear, Inc.)는 3월 7일(현지시각) 미국 ABC방송 TV쇼 '샤크 탱크(Shark Tank)'의 출연자이자 EO(Entrepreneur's Organization) 공동이사인 케빈 해링턴(Kevin Harrington)이 오리진클리어 자문위원회에 합류했다고 발표했다.

케빈 해링턴은 오리진클리어와 협력함으로써 크라우드펀딩(Crowdfunding)으로 산업 및 농업을 위한 물 자립 프로그램(Water Independence Programs for Industry and Agriculture)을 개발하고 국내 일반투자자인 '우리의 군대(Army of Us)'를 모집해 국내 재활용률을 높일 계획이다.

해링턴은 "오리진클리어 팀은 물문제에 대한 독특한 접근방식을 지니고 있는데, 이는 지역 책임이라고 불린다"며 "미국이 물 혁명을 일으키기 위해 어떻게 참여하도록 할 것인지에 대해 조언하게 돼 영광으로 생각한다"고 말했다.

오리진클리어는 공업용수와 농업용수 재사용이 현재 1%에서 15%로 증가할 경우 주거용 담수가 두 배 이상 증가할 것으로 추정했다. 

릭스 에켈베리(Riggs Eckelberry) 오리진클리어 최고경영자(CEO)는 "우리는 심각한 물부족을 겪고 있고, 많은 곳에서 지하수면(Water Table)은 매우 낮음에도 처리하는 물의 1% 미만을 재활용한다"며 "이를 해결하기 위해선 사업체가 물을 사용하는 곳에서 바로 처리할 수 있도록 해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
