스피락(SPIRAC)은 자사가 제작한 고효율 이중 흐름 이동 파인 스크린(fine-screen)을 세계적으로 유명한 홍콩과학기술대학교(Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HKUST)에 공급했다고 밝혔다. 

스피락은 중국, 홍콩 및 극동 지역에서 상하수도 프로젝트 경험이 있는 BML 엔지니어링(BML Engineering)과 긴밀히 협력해 밴드가드(Bandguard) 300 아웃 투 인 타입(Out to In Type) 이중 흐름 이동 밴드 스크린(통수능 2천L)을 HKUST 해수 펌프장(seawater pump house)에 설치했다. 

스피락의 밴드가드 스크린은 적체를 방지하고 다운스트림 장비의 유지 관리 비용을 크게 절감할 수 있다. 스크린은 내부 청소 시스템에 모든 협잡물을 쌓은 다음 스크린 측면을 통해 배출해 완전한 청소를 수행하도록 설계됐다.

BANDGUARD screen for Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

A high-efficiency dual-flow traveling fine-screen made by SPIRAC has been installed at the world-renowned Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

Working in close conjunction with BML Engineering, who have vast water & wastewater project experience in China, Hong Kong and the Far East, SPIRAC supplied and installed its Bandguard 300 ‘Out to In Type’ dual flow travelling band screen (for civil opening width of 1.66 m and civil channel depth of 11.2 m for discharge capacity of 2000 litres) for HKUST’s seawater pump house.

Consistently ranked among the top-tier universities (with over 16,000 students), in Asia, HKUST’s BANDGUARD screen from SPIRAC prevents screenings accumulation and significantly reduces the maintenance costs of downstream equipment. The screen is designed to achieve full cleaning by first depositing all debris in the internal launder system, and then feeding it out through the side of the screen.
