산업용 수처리 소재 분야를 선도하고 있는 삼양사가 신제품 2종을 출시하고 전담 조직을 출범해 글로벌 시장에서 종합 솔루션 기업으로 도약한다.

삼양사(대표 강호성)는 최근 산업용 수처리 소재 브랜드 '트리라이트(TRILITE)'의 신제품 '트리라이트 역삼투막(RO)'과 전기분해식 이온교환장치 '트리라이트 EDI(Electrodeionizer)'를 출시했다고 12월 11일 밝혔다.

이번 신제품은 반도체, 디스플레이, 전기전자 제품을 위한 초순수(불순물을 제거하고 이온 함유량이 0%에 가까운 극도로 순수한 물) 생산 과정에서 고성능 필터와 전기를 이용해 불순물을 1차로 걸러내는 역할을 해 이온교환수지와 함께 산업용 수처리의 핵심 소재로 꼽힌다. 최근 반도체용 초순수 수요가 급증하고 있어 역삼투막과 전기분해식 이온교환장치의 시장규모도 급성장하고 있다.

이번에 출시한 트리라이트 역삼투막은 염(소금)과 유기물 제거 성능이 우수하고, 높은 투과 흐름과 뛰어난 내구성이 특징이다. 바닷물보다 소금의 양이 적은 기수(汽水, Brackish Water) 전용 제품으로 산업용수 제조에 특화되어 있다.

트리라이트 EDI는 전기를 이용해 순수와 초순수를 연속으로 생산하는 장치로, 약품을 사용하지 않아 폐수 배출이 없는 친환경 제품이다. 물이 흐르는 유로(流路) 길이가 길어 유입되는 수질의 변동에도 안정적인 운전과 수질 확보가 가능하다.

삼양사는 이온교환수지에 이어 역삼투막과 전기분해식 이온교환장치를 출시함으로써 초순수 생산을 위한 핵심 소재를 모두 구축했다.

또한 자체 개발한 이온교환수지 설계 프로그램 트라이앵글(TriAngle)'에 역삼투막과 전기분해식 이온교환장치 설계 기능까지 추가해, 사용자의 요구에 따라 최적의 조합으로 수처리 시스템을 설계하고 구축할 수 있는 소재와 소프트웨어를 제공하는 종합 솔루션 기업으로 도약했다.

최근 화학그룹 내 수처리 사업을 담당하는 전담 조직 '워터 솔루션(Water Solutions)  PU(Performance Unit)'를 신설하며 해당 사업을 그룹차원에서 전략적으로 육성하고 있다.

삼양사는 이번 트리라이트 신제품 2종 출시를 시작으로 지속적인 연구개발을 통해 제품 포트폴리오를 강화하고, 이온교환수지 글로벌 판매를 통해 구축한 네트워크를 기반으로 미국, 유럽, 일본, 중국, 동남아 등 글로벌 반도체 시장에서도 입지를 더욱 확대하겠다는 계획이다.

한편 삼양사는 1976년 국내 최초로 이온교환수지의 개발하고 국내 유일의 이온교환수지 브랜드 '트리라이트'를 만들어 국내 수처리 산업을 선도하고 있다.

2014년에는 차세대 이온교환수지 생산을 위해 삼양화인테크놀로지를 설립하고 아시아 최대규모의 균일계(Uniform Particle Sized) 이온교환수지 전용공장(삼양화인테크놀로지)을 준공하여 발전소, 초순수, 크로마토그래피 등 프리미엄 이온교환수지 시장을 확대하고 있다. 2020년에는 원전 내 수처리 장치에 쓰이는 이온교환수지를 공급하며 프리미엄 이온교환수지를 국산화했다.

Samyang Corp. expands global market with two new water treatment devices

Samyang Corporation, Korea's first company to develop ion exchange resin and a leader in the field of industrial water treatment materials, has launched two new products and established a dedicated organization to leap forward as a comprehensive water solution company in the global market.

Samyang Corporation (CEO Kang Ho-Sung) announced that they have released new products with their industrial water treatment brand name, "TRILITE" which are TRILITE RO, Reverse Osmosis, and TRILITE EDI, Electrodeionizer.

These new products are considered key industrial water treatment materials together with ion exchange resin, playing a primary role in removing impurities by high-performance filters and electricity in the production process of ultrapure water(extremely pure water that removes impurities and has close to 0% ion content) for semiconductors, displays, and electronic products. Recently, with the rapidly increasing demand for ultrapure water for semiconductors, the market size for RO membranes and EDI is also growing fast.

The newly launched product, TRILITE RO Membrane has high performance in removing salt and organic matter, high permeability, and excellent durability. It is a product specifically designed for brackish water, which contains less salt than seawater and is specialized in the manufacture of industrial water. TRILITE EDI is a device that continuously produces pure and ultrapure water through electricity. It is an eco-friendly product that does not use chemical materials and does not discharge wastewater. The length of the water flow path is lengthy which provides stable operation as well as outlet water quality despite fluctuations in inlet water conditions.

Samyang Corporation, along with ion exchange resin, has established a core water treatment materials line-up for ultrapure water production by launching its RO membrane and EDI.
