[미국] 자일럼, 수도 유틸리티 위한 디지털 솔루션 테스트
자일럼(Xylem)이 ‘Xylem Vue’ 디지털 포트폴리오의 일부인 자일럼의 ‘워터 네트워크 최적화(Water Network Optimization) 솔루션’을 파일럿 테스트하기 위해 남부 네바다 수도국(SNWA, Southern Nevada Water Authority) 및 워터스타트(WaterStart)와 협력한다. 이 솔루션은 효율성을 높이고 남부 네바다의 물 시스템 운영을 최적화하는 것을 목표로 한다.
이번 공동 파일럿 테스트 프로젝트에서남부 네바다 수도국은 에너지 관리 전략을 개선하고, 시스템 성능을 개선하며, 남부 네바다 지역 수계의 운영 및 유지관리 비용을 절감하기 위해 ‘워터 네트워크 최적화(Water Network Optimization) 솔루션’의 기능을 평가한다.
자일럼은 운영 데이터를 통합하는 남부 네바다 수도국의 물 시스템에 대한 매우 정확한 실시간 모델을 개발한다. 이를 통해 수도국이 운영 프로세스를 최적화하고, 에너지 사용을 줄이며, 물 기반 시설 상태를 평가하고, 안전하고 통제된 환경에서 복잡한 운영 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 지원한다.
남부 네바다 수도국 관계자는 자일럼의 시스템이 직원에게 시기적절한 권장 사항을 안내하는 데 도움이 된다고 밝혔다. 남부 네바다 수도국의 데이브 존슨(Dave Johnson) 운영 부총책임자는 “이번 파일럿 프로젝트는 물 시스템 모델링을 통해 운영을 향상시킬 것이다”라면서 “운영 효율성을 높여 지역 물 사용자와 수도요금 납부자에게 혜택을 줄 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
지능형 물 시스템 공동 테스트 프로젝트는 2022년에 완료될 것으로 예상된다.

Xylem tests digital solution for water utilities
Xylem is working with the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and WaterStart to pilot test Xylem’s Water Network Optimization solution, part of the Xylem Vue digital portfolio, aimed at increasing efficiencies and optimising the operation of Southern Nevada’s water systems.
Through the joint test project, SNWA will evaluate the capabilities of the Water Network Optimization solution to improve energy management strategies, enhance system performance, and reduce operating and maintenance costs of Southern Nevada’s regional water system.
Xylem will develop a real-time, highly accurate model of SNWA’s water system that integrates operational data to help SNWA optimise operational processes, reduce energy use, assess water infrastructure condition, and/or address complex operational challenges in a safe and controlled environment. The Xylem system will help guide existing SNWA operations staff with timely recommendations.
Dave Johnson, SNWA deputy general manager of Operations, said: “While our system is quite efficient, this pilot project will enhance our operations through water system modeling, allowing us to increase operational efficiencies that benefit local water users and rate payers.”
The SNWA expects the intelligent water system joint test project to be completed in 2022.
